I grew up in Avondale and spent eight years in hotel housekeeping, the last three as a floor supervisor. In 2019 I cleaned one apartment in Logan Square for a friend of a friend. By referral, that became a team of six. Everyone is an employee, not a contractor, and paid above the Chicago living wage — because the person in your home should be someone who wants to be there.
